Zoology Class Field Trip to the Georgia Aquarium

Research Projects
1. Tribolium Beetle Population Ecology.
Tribolium beetles are agriculture pests of stored food projects (e.g. grains, flour). This project examines the role of temperature and humidity on their population growth. Broader implications: The effect of global warming on the reproduction and agricultural impact of insect pests.
2. Biological Assessment of Major Rivers in Gwinnett County (Georgia).
In collaboration with Drs. Clay Runck and Bagie George
In this project, GGC faculty and students will conduct a survey of the ecological health of the major rivers and streams in Gwinnett County. Macrovertebrates will be sampled using standard procedures to assess river and stream health.
