Biography:

Hello, and welcome to my site! I am the most recent member of the CTE staff. I earned a B.S. in Mathematics with an emphasis in Computer Science at Georgia Southern and an M.A. in Mathematics from the University of Georgia. I taught Mathematics at the collegiate level for 10+ years. I joined Georgia Perimeter College in 1999 as an Instructional Technologist and, in that capacity, worked with faculty in both developing course material using technology and enhancing instructional methods.

In April 2001 I was promoted to Coordinator of Technical Services for the former Gwinnett University Center where I worked with faculty and staff from GPC, UGA, and GUC in the oversight and planning of all technology for the Center. I was then promoted to Director of Educational Technologies at Georgia Perimeter College in July 2002, a position overseeing departments such as Instructional Technology, WebCT Administration, Training, Desktop Support, Classroom and Event Technologies, Web Development, and Help Desk. I have made several presentations at the local, regional, and national level on topics such as team leadership, communication, and the use of technology in the teaching/learning process.

I began the current position of Instructional Designer at GGC in December 2007. As Instructional Designer, my duties are to advise faculty in the application of instructional design; assist in the development of course materials; develop and provide recommendations for interface design, sequencing of instruction, use of assessments, and design of course materials and activities; conduct workshops that communicate sound pedagogical principles; and explore, investigate, and recommend new technologies/instructional approaches to improve teaching and learning.
